Zola V. Wilson, 98, of Sterling, died Dec. 4, 2007, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Chaney-Reager with Pastor Jodie Harless officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at Ogallala Cemetery in Ogallala, Neb.
Mrs. Wilson was born Feb. 22, 1909, in Salt Rock, W.Va., to Stuart E. and Eva L. (Rousey) Adkins. In 1914, she moved from West Virginia to Nebraska.
She graduated from Arthur County High School in Nebraska in 1928, continuing her education and receiving her teaching certificate.
On Aug. 21, 1931, she married Arthur W. Wilson in Lexington, Neb. In 1959, she moved from Nebraska to Colorado, where she had since resided.
She was a member of Rebecca Lodge, O.E.S., and was an avid reader. She enjoyed raising her family.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her daughters, Gayle (Neal) Gregory of Sterling, Joyce Morrell of Sterling, Eva (Ken) Melby of New Castle, and Lela (Vic) County of Sterling; sons, Delmar Wilson of Spokane, Wash., and David (Sharon) Wilson of Firestone; 19 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wilson in 1976; daughter, Gloria Melvin; grandson, Joseph Sibal; and eight brothers and sisters.
