Zella Marie Miller

Zella Marie Tucker was Born on November 20, 1932, to Hillard Monroe Tucker and Nellie Lola (Adams) Tucker, in Ramona, Oklahoma, the ninth of ten Children. She passed from her earthly life to her eternal life on December 28, 2025, in Sterling, Colorado.

Viewing will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 2, at Halouska Family Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with family to receive friends from 4-6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 3, at Peace Lutheran Church with Deacon Ro Fessor officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

Zella attended school and Church while growing up in Ramona Oklahoma. She Graduated High School in Ramona and was working in Bartlesville Oklahoma, when she met Marvin Miller, at a dance she attended with a friend. Marvin was in the Air Force stationed around Bartlesville, and attended the dance with his Air Force friends. From that point on, the two fell in love and were married in the Redeemer Lutheran Church, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, on April 19,1952.

Marvin was discharged from the Air Force and moved with Zella back to Colorado where Marvin was from. They bought a farm in Berthoud, Colorado and had three boys while on the Farm, Michael, Barton and Howard. They Move to Sterling after Marvin joined the Colorado State patrol, in December of 1962. After the move to Sterling two more sons were born, Warren and Jeff. Zella made homes for the family wherever they lived, but the house on Ball Park Road became the home everyone will always remember.

Zella was extraordinarily strong in her faith. When the family moved to Sterling, she and her family became members of Peace Lutheran Church. She made sure all five of her boys went to church and were confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She also made sure Marvin returned to his Lutheran faith. Zella was very involved in the church and participated in numerous ministries. She also encouraged Marvin’s involvement in the Church after his retirement.

After Marvin passed in 2001, Zella continued with her service to Peace Lutheran Church and maintained her home. In 2018, she moved to an apartment at Devonshire Acres in Sterling.

Zella is survived by her sons, Michael & wife Carol (Kaus), Bart & wife Jolene (Nelson), Warren & wife Melinda (Korbe), Daughter-in-laws: Marlene (Brunkhardt) Miller, and Theresa (Russell) Miller. 12 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, and Numerous Nieces and nephews.

Zella was preceded in death by her parents, father and mother-in-law, Husband Marvin Miller, Sons Howard Miller, Jeffrey Miller, all five of her brothers: Henry Tucker, Jim Tucker, Frank Tucker, Fred Tucker, and Billy Tucker. All four of her sisters: Theta Galimore, Catherine Scott, Alberta Purcell, Lavena Chitwood.
