Wilma Lefine Tanner

Wilma Lefine Tanner, 95, of Sterling, died April 26, 2008, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home in Sterling. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 1, at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Michelle D. Witherspoon officiating. Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Grandview Cemetery in Fort Collins.
Mrs. Tanner was born Feb. 12, 1913, to William D. and Kizzie (Abbott) Scott in Aurora, Neb. She graduated from high school.
On March 16, 1941, she married Dean H. Tanner in Idaho Springs. They moved to Sterling in 1950.
Mrs. Tanner worked with her husband as a bookkeeper in his tax and accounting business.
She was an elder at First Presbyterian Church, where she also sang in the choir and taught Sunday school.
She was a member of the Sweet Adelines, enjoyed fishing and traveling, gardening and flowers.
Mrs. Tanner is survived by her sister, Iola Scott of San Diego, Calif.; nephews, Gary A. Wilson and wife Karen of Sperryville, Va., and John Tanner and wife Mimi of Dallas, Texas; and nieces, Jan Branham and husband Paul of Greeley and Donna Tanner and husband Al Labran of Colorado Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean, in 1990.
