Wilma Rae Gross, 53 of Sterling passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 30 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. The service will conclude at the chapel.

Wilma was born February 26, 1964 to Edward Henry and Julia Ann (Beardshear) Gross in Rapid City, South Dakota. She attended High School in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Wilma worked at the 7-11 as a clerk for 10 years and at Devonshire Acres Nursing Home as a CNA for 22 years. She enjoyed crocheting, coloring, watching the Denver Broncos, painting her nails and listening to music. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wind, Mike and Don Gross; Aunt Zoe McCloud and both sets of grandparents.

Wilma is survived by her daughter, Annie (Brandon) Winters of Sterling; son, Chris Gross of Sterling; brother, Walter Gross of Sterling; sister Wanda (Chuck) Whitman of Padroni, CO; grandchildren, Jordan, Nate, and Autumn Winters all of Sterling; step-father, Pat Cain of Gering, NE; sister-in-law, Helen Gross of Black Hawk, S.D., sister-in-law, Tracey Dunn of Red Oak , IA; nieces, Angela Whitman of Padroni, CO. Jennie (Jonathan) Hornby of Crawford, NE, Kellie Gross of Black Hawk, S.D., Christina (Paul) Baucom, Holly Gross and Brittany Gross all of Red Oak, IA; nephew, Brad Whitman of Sterling; 5 great nephews; 4 great nieces and many adopted kids, nieces, nephews and friends.
