William Curtis Leacock, 83 of Sterling, passed away Tues., Dec. 1, 2015 in Sterling. Visitation will be Fri., Dec. 4 from 10am until 4pm and Sat., Dec. 5 with family receiving friends from 10am until 11am. Funeral service to be at 11am, Sat., Dec.5 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
William was born Jan. 20, 1932 in Derry, PA to Curtis George and Bessie Edith Robb Leacock. On Aug. 25, 1951 he married Vivian M. Lowman in Blairsville, PA. William was an engineer for General Motors, retiring from the Rochester Products Division of General Motors in NY after twenty years. They lived in Mentor, Ohio from 1959 until moving to Greece, NY in 1972. The couple moved to Branchport, NY in 1993 before moving to Sterling in 2004, where they have resided since.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Masons.
William is survived by his wife Vivian Leacock of Sterling; sons David Leacock of Garner, NC, William B. Leacock of Kodiak, AK; daughters Debra Tackett of Plattsburgh, NY, Karen Stephany of Honeoye Falls, NY; grandchildren Melissa Hoffman, William Austin, Grace Perry, Nina Leacock, Elliott Stephany, Elizabeth Stephany and great granddaughters Isabella Hoffman and Scarlett Hoffman.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Nancy Leacock.
