Bill Busig William S. "Bill" Busig, 83, of Sterling, died Sept. 4, 2011, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Christ United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ed Bigler officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Busig was born Nov. 23, 1927, in Sterling to William F. and Sarah B. (Hyde) Busig. He graduated from high school.
He worked for Highline Electric from 1954 to 1990. He also farmed with his father for many years.
On April 18, 1954, he married Mary Jean Wilson in Fleming.
Mr. Busig was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, BPO Elks No. 1336 lifetime member and trustee, and a member of the Methodist Men's Club and Young Farmers. He also taught Sunday school at the church.
He enjoyed his grandchildren and attending farm sales, and worked on electrical motors.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Busig of Sterling; daughter, Barbara Haas and husband Lonny of Sterling; son, Kent Busig and wife Heather of Wausau, Wis.; sister, Naomi Busig of Sterling; grandchildren, Jason Haas and wife Lisa of Peetz, Jeffrey Haas of Fort Collins, Emma, Maddie and Jonathon Busig of Wausau, Wis.; sisters-in-law, June Davis and Theresa Wilson of Sterling; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sarah Busig.
