Willa Deane Harvey, 77, of Sterling, died Jan. 5, 2007, in Sterling. Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at First Baptist Church in Sterling with the Rev. John E. Roberts and the Rev. Roger McGlaughlin officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.Mrs. Harvey was born June 16, 1929, in Sterling to William and Leora (Smith) Blankenbeckler. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1947.On Nov. 18, 1951, she married Orville "Skeek" Harvey in Sterling. They owned a masonry and tile business for 45 years.Mrs. Harvey was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Gideon Auxiliary and Beta Sigma Phi. She was a Sunday School teacher and sponsored church youth groups for several years. She enjoyed gardening. She also enjoyed being a sponsor for Children Inc. for many years. She was a Boy Scout mom for 30 years.Mrs. Harvey is survived by her husband, Orville "Skeek" Harvey of Sterling; sister, Peachie Fritzler and husband Albert of Sterling; brother, Edwin Blankenbeckler and wife Grace of Sterling; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents.Memorials may be made to Gideons.
