After graduating, he farmed for Alec Feibig and met his future wife, Marjorie Flicker. The couple married on Feb. 12, 1939, in McCook, Neb.

In 1953, they purchased a farm southwest of Atwood, where they raised their family. After selling the farm, Mr. Gaynor worked for the school district and another farmer.

Mr. and Mrs. Gaynor loved to dance. He was on the Atwood School Board for several years. He was honored by Great Western Sugar Co. for being a Top 10 Sugar Beet Grower numerous times.
