W. Laurine Lewis, 86, of Sterling, Colorado passed away on December 21, 2015.
Viewing will be at Chaney-Reager on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., preceding the Rosary. Rosary will be at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home in Sterling, Colorado, on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. Mass will be Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Sterling, Colorado. Services will conclude at the church.
Laurine was born in Peetz, Colorado to Gerald and Wilma Wagner on October 5, 1929. She graduated from Sterling High School and Northeastern Junior College.
Laurine married Ernie Lewis on Jan. 2, 1950. The couple had three children, Marla, Dee Ann and Kelly.
She had been a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the St. Bernadette Circle and volunteered at the annual St. Anthony's Bazaar.
Laurine worked for Security State Bank for 30 years, known as Wells Fargo Bank, retiring as a loan officer.
She volunteered at the Sterling Regional MedCenter and Walsh Cancer Center until becoming ill.
Laurine's passion was spending time with her family and friends.
She was survived by daughters, Marla Gareis of Sterling Colorado and Kelly (Ben) Vaughan of Ft. Collins, Colorado; grandchildren Michele Scalva, Julie Gareis, Jason Gareis and friend Abi Marchant, Zeb and Zoe Vaughan and great-grandchildren Taylor, Carson and Harley Gareis. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents Gerald Wagner and Wilma Kelly, infant brother Daryl Wagner, step-father Loran Kelly, daughter Dee Ann Lebsack, grandson Michael Scalva, and son-in-law Kenneth Gareis.
