Virginia H. Talbott, 84, of Ft. Collins, formally of Sterling, died Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at Columbine West Nursing Facility in Ft. Collins. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. To 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 1st at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 2nd, 11:00 A.M.at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, Pastor Brian Bestian officiating. Burial will at Riverside Cemetery.
Virginia was born October 29, 1926, in Sterling, CO to Michael Kautz and Elizabeth Fritzler Kautz. She attended school in Iliff and moved at age 16 to California where she graduated from Burbank High School in 1944.
On September 29, 1951, she moved back to Colorado and married Keith "Skeeter" Talbott in Sterling, farmed in the Iliff and Merino areas before retiring to Sterling in 2000 after 49 years of raising three kids, many crops, cattle and hogs.
Virginia was a loving mother and grandmother, a great listener to family and friends and gave moral support for Skeeter and her children her entire life. Virginia worked on various election boards, was active at Marino School, and a member with Skeeter for many years at the Farm Bureau.
Virginia Talbott is survived by her children, Anita Rae Walters and husband Dale of Ft. Collins, Janis Kay Delcamp and husband Brad of Thornton and David Keith Talbott of Sterling. Surviving brothers include Herman Kautz of Nipomo, CA, Ray Kautz of Dinuba, CA and Henry Kautz of Denver, CO. Grandchildren include Jacob Walters of Denver, Dawn Knudtson and her husband Zane of Phoenix, Ariz, Jason Delcamp and wife Kacey of Thornton, Jessica Delcamp of Salinas, CA and Jacque Delcamp of Aurora, IL. Three great grandsons, Asher and Blake Knudtson and Brixton Delcamp
She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband Skeeter, brothers, Alex and Edward of California and Fred and Harold from Sterling.
