Virginia Lea Lenihan
April 25, 1919 - July 3, 2007
Virginia Lea Lenihan, 88, of Sterling, died July 3, 2007, in Brush. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 9, at Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Young officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Lenihan was born April 25, 1919, to Logan and Elsie Marie (Moore) Smith in Ault. In 1922 she moved with her parents to Willard, then to Merino, where she attended school until 1934. She then moved to Sterling, where she graduated in 1937.
In 1939, she married Earl Hiler. They lived in Los Angeles. She later married Ralph Bevelhimer. They lived in Tempe, Ariz., returning to Sterling in 1949.
She was employed at Logan County Hospital for 24 years, retiring in 1983.
In February 1981, she married Harold Lenihan. They were night managers at MacGregor Hall until Harold died in 1986.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, S.R.M.C. Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, and U.T.U. Auxiliary.
Mrs. Lenihan is survived by her daughters, Ann Hiler Bevelhimer Pyle of Broomfield, and Gayle Bevelhimer Volz of Fort Morgan; son, Michael Bevelhimer of Denver; and 10 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Lois Muhar.
