Obituary

Jne Evans, 94, of Sterling, formerly of Illinois, Indiana, and Arizona, went to be with her Lord May 26, 2012. Her memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. June 7 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, with Pastor Sean Cole officiating.

Jne was spotted by Don Hartzell when they were both young, and declared to be, "worth waiting for." He did, and they were married in 1935 until his death in 1990. She was blessed twice in love, and wed Lyle Evans. After she was widowed a second time, she came to live near her daughter in Sterling.

She was a lifelong lover of words, and wrote for the Warrenville News and walloped many an opponent playing Scrabble. Jne's life was transformed at age 40 by her Savior Jesus Christ. She taught a kitchen table ministry, one on one and in groups, for 25 years, when, at the prompting of a student, her material was put into print. She continued to share and teach until He took her home.

She is survived by her three children and their families, Maryann and Clyde Campbell, Gay and Vern Borth and Don and Mary Hartzell.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, her parents, and 11 siblings.

Memorials may be made to Hope House of Colorado or Emmanuel Baptist Church of Sterling.
