Vera Fern Elizabeth Cullip
April 7, 1923 - April 6, 2008

Vera Fern Elizabeth Cullip, 84, of Sterling, died April 6, 2008, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 10, at Chaney-Reager, with the Rev. David Baines officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home.

Ms. Cullip was born April 7, 1923, to Thomas and Jessie May (Smith) County in Sterling. She attended school in Crook. The family moved to Merino where she continued her education and graduated from Merino High School.

Ms. Cullip lived in the Merino and Sterling area most of her life. She had several jobs from her home. For the last few years, she was a caregiver, helping attend the needs of the elderly.

In 1946, she married John Cullip. They later divorced.

Ms. Cullip enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Marquardt of Castle Rock and Coleen Neiman and husband Wayne of Merino; son, Daniel Cullip and wife Linda of Sterling; 12 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Jessie County; nine brothers and sisters; two sons, John Jr. and Joseph; and infant granddaughter, Michelle Neiman.
