Velma Jane Schadegg, 78 of Sterling, passed away Sun., Nov. 8, 2015 in Sterling. Memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Fri., Nov. 13, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Inurnment to follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Velma was born Nov. 20, 1936 in Sterling, CO to Louis A. and Thora E. Madsen Bollish. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1953. On Dec. 27, 1953 in San Diego, CA she married Herman "Shad" Schadegg. Velma and Shad owned and operated a service station in Sterling from 1954 until 1964, sold it and then owned and operated Shad's Restaurant from 1964 until 1984. They owned and operated the Atwood Stead House from 1984 to present.
She enjoyed dancing, traveling, playing cards, garage sales and her grandchildren.
Velma is survived by her daughters Starla Fredrickson and husband Robert of Sterling and children John R. Fredrickson and Gregory C. Fredrickson; Angela Lederhos and husband Thomas of Sterling and children Lynsey Reed and Lacey Pavlovsky and husband R. J.; sons Curtis Schadegg of Hartsel, CO and son Brandon Schadegg; Dennis Schadegg and wife Suzan of Sterling and children Andrew Schadegg and Jordan Schadegg; and great grandson Max Pavlovsky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband "Shad" Schadegg, infant son Curtis DeWayne Schadegg, brothers Robert Bollish and Don Bollish.
