Velda F. Littler, 87, of Sterling, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, in Sterling. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 12, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dave Tyree officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Velda was born June 17, 1922, in Peetz, to Harry W. Stone and Lula A. (Wiseman) Stone. She graduated from high school.
On July 1, 1941, she married James R. Littler in Kimball, Neb.
Velda, the one-of-a-kind lady, was well known and loved by so many in Sterling and surrounding areas who met her when she worked at the White Kitchen Bakery for 25 years and the J&L Cafe for 30 years, and her neighbors and friends at Devonshire Acres.
She enjoyed crafts and decorating for every holiday, and enjoyed working in her yard. Her biggest loves of life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and of course the Broncos. She loved life and doing for others. She will be missed dearly by all.
Velda is survived by her daughter, Carol Reinhardt and husband Bob of Padroni, grandson, Kelley Reinhardt and wife Kathy; step-granddaughter, Rhonda Modrell and husband Roger; two great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; eight step-great-great-grandchildren; very special niece, Glennice Littler, among numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; very special friends, Paula and Stan Livingston and Ceilia and Kevin Martin; brother-in-law, Bob Littler and wife Millie; and sisters-in-law, Connie Stone and Cookie Stone.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold, Vinton, Buster, Kenneth and Ralph Stone; twin sister, Vada, and sisters, Margie, Thelma, Dorothy, Ruby and Hazel; and husband, James Littler in 1982.
