Valda Elaine Roberts, 77, of Merino went to be with her Lord on Friday Sept. 16, 2011. She was born April 18, 1934 in Sterling to Dan and Leah Amen. Valda was most proud of the time she met and married the love of her life, Bob Roberts on April 16, 1955. Valda and Bob farmed, ranched and raised their three children: Vicki, Dave and Jodi. Valda enjoyed cooking, painting, the ourdoors and spending time with friends and family. Valda is survived by: daughter Vicki and her husband Bill Weber of Sterling, son David and his wife Nancy Roberts of Colorado Springs, and daughter Jodi and her husband Shane Dutton of LaPorte, seven grandchildren, Jonathan, Robert, April, Brent,David, Lane and Sara, three great grandchildren, Jared, Spencer and Wyatt, sister Mildred and her husband Don Bollish of Sterling, Eleanor and her husband Glen Volcic of Sterling and brother Dan Amen of Sidney, NE. Valda was preceded in death by: her parents Dan and Leah Amen, her beloved husband of 54 years, Robert Roberts, brother Jack Amen, granddaughter Sarah Butler and grandson Robby Roberts. At Valda's request there will be no funeral service. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be on Saturday, September 24th starting at 1:00 PM at her home at 21280 CR 7, Merino, CO 80741.
