Trixie Dawn Nielsen

Trixie Dawn Nielsen, 49, of Sidney, NE passed away unexpectedly Sunday, April 5, 2026. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 2, at the Akron Foursquare Church with Pastor Richard Moon officiating. The service will conclude at the church.

Trixie was born on September 22, 1976, in Hot Springs, South Dakota to Mark Menge and Dorthea Rae Nielsen. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1995 and attended Northeastern Junior College in 2006. Trixie worked for Black Hills Special Services from 2018-2023 and then as a Direct Support Professional for an apartment building.

Trixie enjoyed doing arts and crafts such as embroidery, crocheting, and doing gem and jewel designs.

She is preceded in death by her mother Dorthea Nielsen.

Trixie is survived by her son William (Micayla) Nielsen of Iliff, CO, sister Amy (Rich) Moon of Sterling, CO, grandchildren Lucas and Luna Nielsen of Iliff, CO, niece Kayla (Kyle) Schneider of Sterling, CO and nephews Aaron Moon of Thermopolis, WY, and Kamden, Kooper, Korbyn, Kit, and Kash Schneider all of Sterling, CO.
