Timothy Gene Smith 61, died Friday, August 26, 2022, at his home in Gresham, Oregon.

A memorial service will be held sometime next spring.

Tim was born January 12, 1961, in Sterling, CO to Leila (DeWitt) and Larry Smith, in Sterling, Colorado. He attended Sterling schools and graduated from Sterling high school in 1979. He worked various jobs in Sterling, and his favorite was working with Dr. "Fred" Fredrigil at the Veterinary Medical Clinic.

Tim shared his mother's love for cats and anything that could fly and was thrilled when he obtained his private pilot's license. After working at several airports in Colorado, he landed at his home away from home, the Portland International Airport in Portland, Oregon. Tim is survived by a brother, Douglas (Dana) Smith and a nephew, Christian Smith; cousins Sharon (Jim) Alan and families, and Dick (Diane) Smith and families; best friend Andy Rice and family, all of Sterling and "sisters" Jamie Otis and Jill Hamilton and families, of Colorado; his Trinity Lutheran Church family, and his PDX family and many friends in Oregon and Colorado Tim loved working at the airport and enjoyed meeting with people from all over the globe; thus, he had friends in many countries. He was preceded in death by his parents.
