Timothy Shawn Peterson

Timothy Shawn Peterson, 68 of Sterling, CO passed away after a long and courageous fight with Parkinson’s on Friday, February 13, 2026. He passed at his home surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of Tim’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21 at Halouska Family Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. The service will conclude at the chapel.

Timothy was born November 7, 1957, in Sterling, Colorado to Harold E. and Ramona Jean (Anderson) Peterson. He attended schools in Sterling and graduated with the class of 1977. Tim married Kathryn Hammond on December 4, 1976, in Sterling. He worked for Wisdom Manufacturing for many years and later as an EMT for Life Care Ambulance. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and was an avid outdoorsman. He especially loved his family and attended all the grandchildren’s sports and activities. Tim also enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and L.A. Dodgers. During his free time, he could be found “tinkering” with just about anything!

He was preceded in death by his mother Ramona Vineyard and his in-laws Leland and Florence Hammond.

Tim is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Kathy; children, Shawn (Brooke) Peterson of Thornton, CO, Ashley (David) Beck of Sterling, CO and Erin (Jared) Zuege of Sterling, CO; grandchildren, Carter, Nolan, Barrett and Grayson Zuege, Makenzie, Austin and Andrew Beck and Jackson, Hadleigh and Reid Peterson; 5 brothers and 1 sister.
