Tara Ann Maestas-Loft, 26 of Sterling, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 18, 2022. A private memorial service was held.

Tara Ann was born October 8, 1995, in Sterling, Colorado to Jeffery D. Loft and Jennifer A. Maestas.

Tara enjoyed spending time with her babies and family and friends and was an amazing person inside and out. Her smile and quick wits left an outstanding impression on all who had come in contact with her. Tara was loved by many. She graduated from Sterling High School and was a waitress at Santiagos, her home away from home!

You are gonna be missed baby girl but never forgotten. May you soar them skies my beautiful princess.

She is preceded in death by her father Jeff Loft; brother Elijah Gerbitz; grandmothers Kathy Carpenter and Diane Loft; aunt Terry Decker; Grandfather Caleb Payne Sr. and great-grandma Julie Maestas.

Tara is survived by her 2 sons Josiah Maestas-Loft and Mythias Maestas-Loft; mother Jennifer Maestas, stepfathers Thomas (BJ) Gerbitz and Lucas (Jen) Ortiz; brothers and sisters Trey-Lo Gerbitz, Thomas and Star Gerbitz, Anastasia (Alex) Carrick, Isaac Ortiz all of Sterling; Zacary Loft of Colorado Springs, Hayley Loft of Sterling; niece Alivia Avery Grace; nephews Benji and Weston; uncles Joe Maestas of Sidney, NE, Jeffrey Maestas of Sterling, Oliver Gerbitz III of Sterling, Caleb (Melissa) Payne, Brian (Angie) Payne, Scotty (Tonya) Payne and Jason (Tracy) Payne; aunts Faith (Kenny) Rodriguis Pennz and Stacy Loft of Sterling; grandfather Bill Loft and numerous cousins.
