Aryleen (West) Garvik, 86, of Brush, died March 2, 2010, at Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center in Brush. A private family service will be held at the Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver.
She was born April 10, 1923, to Burton West and Minnie (Muselman) West in Grand River, Iowa. She grew up on the family farm in Osceola, Iowa.
On April 10, 1948, she married Raymond Garvik in Akron.
Mrs. Garvik lived in Sterling most of her adult life. She worked as a waitress in Iowa and Sterling until her retirement.
She is survived by her son, Larry and wife Sheryl of Brush; daughter, Linda Stark and husband Troy of Cunningham, Kan.; sister, Virleen Harrell of Pascagoula, Mass.; brother, Dean West of Albia, Aryleen (West) Garvik Iowa; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Garvik was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; daughter, Linette Wyatt; parents; sisters, Colleen Naugle and Pauline West; twin brother, Earl; and brothers, Paul, Glen, Dennis and Donald West.
