She married George Gertge on her eighteenth birthday at St. Anthony in Sterling, CO and spent 63 years together until his passing in 2017. Susie worked for Woolworth, Kmart and for a short time at Walmart and JCPenney. She and George farmed and ranched from 1956-1974 and ran a dairy for several years. She and George started Mats from Flats and the House of Grebble booth and took them both to fairs and craft shows for many years.
She was a member of Saint Catherine in Iliff, CO and later Saint Anthony in Sterling, CO. She enjoyed making noodles and cabbage pockets and doing embroidery, word searches, and watching westerns and the Colorado Rockies. She loved going to grandkids ball games and supporting them in all their endeavors. She bowled for many years and enjoyed watching others bowl when she was unable to bowl herself.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, parents, and stepmother Elizabeth (Gertner) Unrein Hoozee and all of her siblings and their spouses; Frank and Dolores Hoozee, Jake and Henrietta Huss, Josephine and Albert Monheiser, and Joseph Hoozee.
