Obituary

Beloved mother and grandmother, Suzanne Davis, 93, entered rest on May 14 th , 2022. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Suzanne was born on November 18 th , 1928, in Sutton Nebraska to Ida and Edward Griess.

Suzanne met Robert Davis in 1946 at the Duckpin Bowling Alley, and on November 28 th , 1948 they married.  Together they made Sterling their home where they raised their two sons Robert Jr. and Rodney, as well as their nephew John Griess.  Suzanne worked for the RE 1 Valley School District as a cook for 21 years.  When Suzanne and her husband retired, they traveled to such places as Mexico, Australia, the Caribbean, Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii.  In May of 1994 the couple's lives changed with the arrival of their great-grandson, Jordyn.  Traveling for the couple ceased and their main focus became spending every moment they possibly could with the greatest love of their lives.  Besides spending much of her time throughout the years with her grandchildren; Jackii, Michael, Jordyn and Jaxyn, Suzanne enjoyed going to yard sales, camping, fishing, gardening, baking, playing bingo, watching baseball and football, as well as meeting up with friends for coffee long before doing so was considered cool.

At the beginning of December of 2021, Suzanne moved into Highline Place in Littleton, where she was cared for by their amazing and selfless staff and her devoted granddaughter Jackii.  By being mere minutes away from her cherished grandchildren, Suzanne would go on to spend her final months surrounded daily by them, which filled her with immense joy and happiness as she was consistently spoiled with her favorite treats, and showered with the love, patience, dignity, and respect she deserved.

Suzanne's feisty personality, unfiltered sense of humor, generosity, and unconditional love will be sorely missed by those who truly loved and knew her best.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Robert; son Robert Jr.; and brothers Melvin, Robert, Wayne, Dale, Ronald, Jim, Raymond, Morris, and John.

Suzanne is survived by her son Rodney; grandchildren Jackii, Michael, Amie, Kathryn, Matthew, and Tina; great-grandchildren Jordyn, Jaxyn, Madalyn, Jackson, Alexa, Nicole, and Allison; sisters Betty and Arlene; daughters-in-love Nancy and Judy; nephew John, as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
