Stephanie Ann Loos

Stephanie Ann Loos, 50, of Sterling passed away at her home on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. A celebration of Stephanie’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 13 at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Spencer Green and Rev. Kristie Firme officiating. The service will conclude at the church.

Stephanie was born on April 16, 1976, in Ft. Morgan, CO to Robert Stanley Weimer and Linda Ann Meseraull. She graduated from Ft. Morgan High School with the class of 1994. After graduation, she cleaned houses for over 20 years and then worked at Walmart as a sales associate for the past 5 years. She married Troy Penfold on March 25, 2000, and later married James Loos on February 11, 2019.

Stephanie had an amazing green thumb and was known as the “Orchid Master”. She loved cooking, spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, and camping. She was known for being very ornery, especially pinching butts, and whistling to call out her girls. She would also catch people off guard and give them wet willies. She was always honest and authentic; sometimes a little too much!

She is preceded in death by Lori Wooford, Rose and Rheinhart Weimer and Donna Doman.

Stephanie is survived by her parents, Robert Stanley Weimer and Linda Ann (Meseraull) Gretch; her husband James Loos; two daughters Kori Maier and Jaden Penfold; two sons Chad Loos and Derek Loos; brother Wendolyn Weimer of Hot Springs, SD; nephews Jarrett Weimer and Brayden Vanden Berg of Hot Springs, SD; grandchildren Ryssa Loos, Audie Loos, Bowen Loos, Karter Loos, Kensington Loos, and Kolson Loos and nieces and nephews Matthew and Jennifer Weimer of Denver, CO, Devjan and Hope Wofford and Gabrielle Wofford.
