Obituary

Stella Darlin Olick, 91, formerly of Sterling, passed away Dec. 7, 2011, at Hillcrest Assisted Living at Loveland. Vigil service and Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with closed casked services. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at St. Anthony Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Stella was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Cedar Rapids, Neb., to Edward and Clara (Wessel) Feik. At age 6, she moved with her family to St. Peters community where she attended school.

Stella moved to Sidney, Neb., in 1941 and worked at Sioux Army Ordinance Depot. There she met Walter. They were married at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fleming. They lived in Sidney for a short time, then moved to a farm and ranch north of Willard. They lived there several years before moving to Sterling. Stella and Olie owned and operated Olie's Liquor for 14 years before retiring.

They both moved to the Hillcrest in Loveland in March 2011, where they both received the best care they could have ever received.

Stella was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and active in Catholic Daughters, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Altar and Rosary Society. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, beautiful flowers, card parties and especially her family.

Stella is survived by her daughter, Geraldine Thomas and husband Roger of Doniphan, Mo.; son, Raymond Olick and wife Linda of Fort Collins; sisters, Bernadette (Feik) Hubersberger of Loveland, Rosemary (Feik) Cumpsten of Loveland, Madonna Feik and Marjorie Feik of Loveland; numerous nieces and nephews; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Olick on Sept. 23, 2011; brother, Bruno Feik; sister, Elizabeth Feik; and great-granddaughter, Page Olick.
