Shirley Ann Karg, 87, died on Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Sterling Regional MedCenter, surrounded by her loving family. Viewing will be held from 4 -6 p.m., Monday, May 30 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at Sterling Church of the Nazarene at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 31, with a dinner reception immediately following the service.

Shirley was born September 13, 1934, in Sterling, CO, and graduated from Fleming High School in 1952. She was a faithful and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Shirley was a long-time member of the Sterling Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed attending the activities of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking and baking for her family, sewing and crocheting, having coffee and donuts with her friends, and giving to others in quiet and generous ways.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, William Plank Sr. and Florence Plank; her brother, William "Bill" Plank Jr.; and her sister, Peggy Acott.

She is survived by her three children, Janell Dermer (Bryan) (Sterling, CO), Randy Karg (Jordan) (Sterling, CO), Rod Karg (Bonnie) (Sterling, CO); and three brothers, Robert "Bob" Plank (Norma), John Plank, and Mark Plank.

She will be lovingly remembered by her six grandchildren: Janae Maker (Jeff) (Sterling, CO), Scott Dermer (Lindsey) (Olathe, KS), Janessa Delgado (Torrance) (Erie, CO), Kevin Karg (Seattle, WA), Derek Karg (Alex) (Portland, OR), Neha Schoenfeld (Zeth) (Sterling, CO); seven great-grandchildren: Jayce Maker, Jalyssa Maker, Millie Dermer, Eli Dermer, Bennett Dermer, Vala Delgado, and Haven Delgado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
