Shirley Alice Grauberger, 85 of Greeley, CO passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022. A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Zion Congregational Church with Reverend Brian Witherspoon officiating. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Sterling.

Shirley was born August 18, 1937, in Sterling, CO to Leeland and Beulah (Evans) Zigler. Shirley attended schools in Sterling, Haxtun and Iliff and received her GED in 1967.

Shirley met and married Reinhold Grauberger on August 29, 1954. She worked for RE-I Valley School District as a secretary at Sterling Junior High for 28 years until her retirement.

Shirley was a long-time member of Zion Congregational Church in Sterling. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed collecting penguins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother, two sisters, and her son-in-law.

Shirley is survived by her son Lloyd (Linda) Grauberger of Hugo, CO; daughter Bonnie McElhinney of Evans, CO; grandsons Tucker McElhinney of Greeley, CO and Scott (Bekah) McElhinney of Petaluma, CA; granddaughters Ginger Grauberger of Eugene, OR and Cortney (Max) Brummond of Eugene, OR; great-grandsons Maximus and Ronin Brummond of Eugene, OR; sister Betty Uber of Haxtun, CO and several nieces and nephews.
