Obituary
Shirley Elizabeth Gates, 78, of Sterling, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, in Sterling. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Keith Gentry officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at Riverside Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 2, 1930, to James Tolla and Jennie McQueen (Lynch) Brown, in Sterling. She attended Sterling High School.
In 1955, she married Kenneth Gates.
Mrs. Gates is survived by her grandsons, Craig Fehringer of Denver and Cory Fehringer of Hastings, Neb.; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Tolla and Jennie Brown; daughter, Debbie Fehringer; and sisters, June Brackman and Beverly Brookshire.
