Sarah Lyn Merrick, 38, passed away Monday, August 11, 2025, at United Hospital of Longmont, Tru Care Hospice with her loving family by her side. A Celebration of Sarah's life will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 18, at Faith Cornerstone Church with Pastor Jodie Harless officiating. A luncheon will follow the church service, and Sarah will be laid to rest at 2:30 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Julesburg, CO.

Sarah Lyn Merrick, daughter of Charley and Sandra Merrick, was born May 6, 1987, at Logan County Hospital in Sterling, Colorado. Sarah attended public schools and graduated from Sterling High School with the class of 2007.

She spent most of her weekday mornings with her friends from April's Angels, delivering meals on wheels and having lunch together. She worked at Logan County Cooperating Ministry for 14 years, as a volunteer.

Sarah was active with the Sterling Comets until her health began to fail. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends at Logan Industries. Sarah was always active at her church, Faith United Methodist Church which she joined at age of 15. Now known as Faith Cornerstone Church, Sarah was a member of the choir and folded bulletins weekly. She was baptized at the Julesburg Methodist Church at the age of 1 month.

Sarah was much loved by her parents, sister Dana (Donovan) Foote and her nieces Kristin Foote and Katelyn Foote, three uncles and aunts, Richard (Nancy) Spillman, Ray (Anne) Spillman, and Jerry (Judy) Spillman and eight cousins.

She was greeted in Heaven by her grandparents "Nonny and Poppy" Donald and Wilma Spillman, and Charley and "Grammy" Myrtle Merrick; nephew, T.J. Foote; aunts Nancy Spillman and Charlene Kaasch and cousin, Mark Spillman.

Sarah is survived by her parents Charley and Sandra Merrick, "Sissy" Dana and Donovan Foote, Kristin & Katelyn Foote; brother Charley "Bob" Merrick and sister Amy Dubas.

Sarah gave hugs to all she met and was a blessing from God. Her light will continue to shine in all of our hearts.
