Obituary

Sandra Kay Joss Thompson went home to be with the Lord on March 21, 2010. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 1, at Mitchell Berean Church located on Highway 26 between Mitchell and Scottsbluff, Neb.

She was born March 8, 1944, in Lusk, Wyo., to George Samuel and Leola Fern Marple Joss. Her mother died when she was only three months old and due to her dad's poor health, George's brother Art and his wife Peg took Sandra and her brother Phil to live with them. George later died when she was in the fourth grade. She spent summers on the ranch and the family maintained a home in Douglas, Wyo., so the children could be closer to school.

Upon graduating from Douglas High School in 1962, she attended Casper College where she met Larry Hall. In 1963 they married. They resided on the ranch at Lance Creek and during this time two children were born: Shawn in 1964 and Rhonda in 1966. She divorced in 1968 and moved to Longmont.
In 1971 she married Wayne Beghtol and in 1972 gave birth to her third child, a son, Trey. In 1978 the family moved to Torrington, Wyo.

In 1990 she and Wayne divorced and she returned to Colorado. In 1994 she met and married Warren Thompson. They lived in Greeley and then Atwood, until the time of her death.
Sandy enjoyed animals, especially horses and dogs, gardening, collecting antiques, and had a special talent for interior decorating.

She experienced complete kidney failure in April of 2005 and suffered greatly with her poor health for the last five years of her life. Despite this she was always strong for her family and steadfast in her belief in and love for Jesus. Everyone she met was amazed at her positive out look on life in spite of her suffering.
Her three grandchildren: Garrett Mehling, Harrison Hall and Jadyn Hall were the jewel of her eye and they loved her so much! She will be missed greatly and fondly remembered by many.

She is survived by her children and their spouses Marlisa Hall and husband Shawn, Mark Mehling and wife Rhonda and Trey's fiancé Rhiannon Martin; her husband, Warren Thompson; sister in-law, Barbara Joss; brother, Artie Joss and his wife Frieda; and her sister, Shelley Coffey and her husband Rebel.
She was preceded in death by both sets of parents; and one brother, Phil Joss.

Memorials to the James B. Harrigan Dialysis Unit of Sterling Regional Medical Center or University of Colorado Transplant Unit can be sent to 5437 St. HWY 154, Veteran, WY 82243.
Chaney-Reager Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
