Sandra Kaye Stark passed away peacefully Thursday, October 17, 2024, in Fort Collins, Colorado, at the age of 79. A funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 23 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sterling. Burial with military honors was held at Riverside Cemetery.

Sandra was born on May 30, 1945, in Akron, Colorado. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose warmth, strength, and compassion touched the lives of many. Sandra's life was defined by service and a steadfast commitment to learning. She earned her GED before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where she served her country with pride for nine years. Following her military service, she began a nursing career at the Denver Veterans Administration hospital.

With determination and perseverance, Sandra pursued her education while working at the VA, ultimately earning her bachelor's degree in nursing and science. She retired in 1997, yet she continued to stay connected to her profession by maintaining her nursing license and providing care whenever it was needed. Sandra's legacy lives on in her family and all who were touched by her kindness, resilience, and dedication. Her memory will remain a blessing to those who knew and loved her.

Sandra is lovingly remembered by her children: Deanne Stark of Cheyenne, Wyoming; Kimberly Stark of Texas; Debbie (Martin) Harris of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and Kevin (Rubie) Stark of Livingston, Montana. She is also survived by her sister, Gail (Pat) Atkinson, of Arizona; her grandchildren Jacob, Matthew, Joseph, Donavan, Thomas, Gabe, Nathan, Christopher, and Breanna; and her 15 cherished great-grandchildren.
