Ruth Cullip Ruth M. Cullip of Sterling died peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on Oct. 9, 2011, at the age of 87. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, and from noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, with family receiving friends from 4 to 6 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, at Chaney-Reager. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
A lifetime resident of Merino, Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was born Dec. 12, 1923, in Merino to Leonard and Amanda (Heggs) Shull.
Ruth graduated from Willard High School in Willard in 1943, and attended Northeastern Junior College after marriage. Ruth was first a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She also worked as a telephone operator. She had a passion for cooking and cooked many years for the public schools and Rose Arbor nursing home.
Ruth married Ralph Cullip on Aug. 22, 1943, in Merino. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage. They embraced the teachings and fellowship of Jesus Christ all the days of their life.
Ruth and Ralph were blessed with a loving family of three children, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth is survived by her husband, Ralph Cullip; children, Linda and Larry Tramp of Merino, Esther and Larry Nelson of Peetz and Dale and Connie Cullip of Sterling; and a nephew, Mark McRoberts of Ormond Beach, Fla. She is also survived by grandchildren, Doug and Maria Tramp of Sterling, Marlan and Julie Tramp of Merino, Heidi and Tom Pearce of Greeley, Paula and Jay Poulignot of Cheyenne, Wyo., Shauna and Kirk Carpenter of Fort Morgan, Tamra and Wayne Ashburn of Woodrow, Brandon and Katie Nelson of Thornton, Byron Nelson of Fort Collins, Leonard and Shannon Cullip of Wasilla, Alaska, and Teryl Cullip of Sterling; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Anderson of Merino; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Lois Shull and Verna McRoberts.
