Ruth Elaine Browner, 77, of Sterling, died Dec. 8, 2009, in Brush. Visitation will be until 6 p.m. today, Dec. 10, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with Vigil and Rosary Service to follow. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with the Rev. Robert L. Wedow officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.

Mrs. Browner was born Dec. 21, 1931, to Louis and Marie (Miller) Van Driel in Padroni. She graduated from Padroni High School in 1944 and continued her education at Sterling Junior College, graduating in 1950.
On April 14, 1953, she married Leslie A. Browner in Sterling.
She was a bookkeeper for the Logan County government for several years.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Mrs. Browner is survived by her children, Gary Browner and wife Sandy of Sterling, J.B. Johnson and husband Jay of Round Rock, Texas, Julie Rhea and husband Bradford of Merino, Gordon Browner and wife Nancy of Sterling, Nick Browner and wife Stephanie of Denver, Janet Thrasher and husband Phil of Loveland; brothers and sisters, Helen Rieb of Greeley, Alice Harr of Greeley, Paul Van Driel of Greeley, Bob Van Driel of Sterling, Clara Wilterdink of Sterling, Genevieve Van Driel of Milwaukee, Wis., Dorothy Van Driel of Milwaukee, Wis.; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Browner in December 2007; four brothers and one sister.
