Donald H. "Rusty" Walker, 90 passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his home in Sterling, CO. Visitation will be held from 10 am to 4 pm, Wednesday, May 2 with family receiving friends from 2 -4 pm at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 3 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Reverend Spencer Green officiating. Burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery.

Rusty was born May 27, 1927 in Sterling, Colorado to John Lyman and Marie Katherine (Gettman) Walker. He graduated from Sterling High School and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a Seaman First Class from 1945 to 1946. Rusty married Rena Rae Wilds on February 20, 1955 at the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport, Nebraska. They lived in McCook, Nebraska until 1957 and then returned to Sterling. Rusty worked many years as the manager of Stickney, Inc. and then sold real estate in Sterling for over 30 years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Willard, Jake Uhrig VFW Post 3541, a life member of the BPOE Lodge #1336 and an advisor to the Eagle Scouts. Rusty was an avid sportsman, fisherman and conservationist. He also belonged to the NE Colorado Game and Fish Club for many years.

Rusty is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Rena; daughter Peggy Walker Davis of Morrison, CO; sons, Scott A. Walker of Grand Junction, Co and D. John Walker of Sterling, CO; sister Ruth Baker of Louisville, CO; grandchildren, Erin Fusaro of Pittsburgh, PA, Cody Walker of Grand Junction, CO, Casey Walker of Virginia Beach, VA, Katie Walker of Grand Junction, CO; great-grandchildren, Vincent Fusaro, Walker Fusaro both of Pittsburgh, PA and Waylon Walker of Grand Junction, CO.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Katherine; sisters, Lydia Spafford, Esther Dick and Roberta Bettinger and brother Robert Walker.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the United Methodist Church of Willard in care of Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, PO Box 1046, Sterling, CO 80751.
