Ross J. Lindstrom, 88, of Sterling, died Oct. 18, 2009, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., with Pastor Doug Burroughs officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mr. Lindstrom was born June 17, 1921, to Phillip and Olive Fern (May) Lindstrom in Fremont, Neb. He graduated from high school and continued his education for two more years at L.I.F.E. Bible College in Los Angeles.
On June 28, 1942, he married Garsene A. Wharry at Angelus Temple in Los Angeles.
For the first few years of his marriage, he pastored a church in Yuma, Ariz. They moved to Sterling in 1947, where he farmed for many years.
Mr. Lindstrom was a member and very active in the First Foursquare Church for many years.
He is survived by his daughter, Rosslyn Patchin and husband Patrick of Rio Rancho, N.M.; sister, Lyla Cowan of Olympia, Wash.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Garsene in 1991; daughter, Ann Trump in 2009; and sister, Ruth Gortney.
