Rose Mary (Monheiser) Piel, 94, of Stoneham, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, at Halouska Family Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with Reverend Joseph Onyango Oiye as celebrant. A luncheon will be held after the service at the church cafeteria. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m., at the Prairie View Cemetery in Stoneham.

Rose Mary was born on March 8, 1932, in Sterling, Colorado to John and Mary (Kloberdanz) Monheiser. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1950, and married Arnold Piel on January 8, 1955. To this union four children were born, two girls and two boys.

Rose Mary worked for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator for 20 years. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Stoneham, Colorado.

Rose Mary is survived by her husband Arnold, her two sons Douglas Piel of Merino, Colorado, and Greg Piel of London, England; her two daughters Mary Lou Piel of Jacksonville, Florida and Annette Kinnison of Greeley, Colorado; 7 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
