Ronald George Stoltz, 93 of Sterling passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in Sterling. A graveside inurnment will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, July 27 at the Riverside Cemetery.
Ronald was born on September 8, 1923 in Sterling, Colorado to George Ferdinand and Elizabeth Louise (Koenig) Stoltz. Ron attended Sterling High School through the 11th grade and then his family moved to Albany, Oregon where he completed his high school education. After high school, Ron enlisted in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945 and served as a Crew Chief Airplane mechanic. He was honorably discharged and returned to Sterling and worked at Tiegden Motors for many years. He later owned and operated Coasts Carburetor Repair. He married Dorothy Ellen Christensen in 1946 and divorced. Ron was a member of the Sterling BPOE Lodge #1336 and served as a past Exalted Ruler. He enjoyed golfing and boating, and even built a small cabin cruiser boat from a kit.
Ron is survived by his nephew, Don Carey and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers and 1 sister.
