Obituary
Ronald Eugene Simmons, 68, of Fleming, died Jan. 5, 2010, in Fleming. Private family services will be held at a later date.
He was born April 25, 1941, in Bowling Green, Ky., to Prellso and Martha (Cartwright) Simmons. He graduated from high school.
Mr. Simmons served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1959 until his discharge in 1968.
On July 3, 1965, he married Patricia F. Wilkerson in Louisville, Ky.
He was a firefighter in Louisville before moving to Colorado in 1981. He worked for the Jefferson County Sheriff Department as a consultant.
He moved from Golden to Fleming in 1993.
Mr. Simmons enjoyed horses, and horse rescue was his hobby.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Simmons of Fleming.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to horse and animal rescue in his name.
