Obituary

Ronald C. Schwartzkopf, 75, of Julesburg, CO passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013 at RWMC in Scottsbluff, NE. Memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Reverend Ed Bigler III officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home.

Ronald was born November 24, 1937 in Huntley, Wyoming to William and Emma (Heil) Schwartzkopf. Ron attended school in Torrington, WY up to the 8th grade. He spent most of his youth in his dad's pool hall playing the game he loved. Ron loved to fish and camp. He enjoyed building and running his remote control airplanes, boat, and cars. Ron met and married Elizabeth Worrell on August 3, 1957. To this marriage he had four children. Ron worked for ZW Mill, Allan Transfer, and Boyer Furniture. After a few years with Boyers, Ron went into business for himself as a repairman for Frigidaire Appliance. In 1969 Ron moved his family to Ogallala where he helped build and later worked for Union 76. Ron later divorced and moved to Sterling, Colorado where he met and married Lois Loft on May 23, 1988 in Sterling. Ron worked for Allen Mitchek for several years and retired there. Ron and Lois moved to Julesburg, Colorado a few years later.

Survivors include wife, Lois Schwartzkopf of Julesburg; daughter, Cindi (Carol) Ward, Chilton, TX; sons Mike (Debbie) Schwartzkopf, Lubbock, TX, Larry (Polly) Schwartzkopf, Oshkosh, NE; daughter, Tammy (Dave) Relka, Scottsbluff, NE; stepson, John (Laura) Loft Julesburg, CO; sister, June Herdt, Torrington, WY; twin brothter, Daniel Schwartzkopf, Ogallala, NE; brother, Jack Schwartzkopf, Torrington, WY; 11 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister, Lori Schwartzkopf, brother, Leroy (Bill) Schwartzkopf and his father and mother-in-law.
