Roger Lowry Stumpff, 77 of Sterling, passed away Thurs., March 24, 2016 in Sterling. Memorial service will be Tues., March 29 at 10:30 am at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Bigler III officiating. Service will conclude at the funeral home.
Roger was born Dec. 9, 1938 to Darrell L. and Fay Mae Lowry Stumpff in Hillrose, CO. He graduated from Deuel County High School in Chappell, NE the class of 1956. Roger entered the United State Army, serving for two years when he was honorably discharged.
In 1966 he founded Industrial Welding and was actively involved in the operations until his passing.
On Aug. 5, 1967 he married Betty Jean Marin in Sterling, CO. Roger loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and loved traveling.
He was a member of the BPO Elks Lodge No 1336 and the American Legion Post No 20.
Roger is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Stumpff of Sterling, daughters Kerry Stumpff and husband Ken Lousberg of Beijing, China and Shelly Miller and husband Brent of Castle Rock, CO, brothers Robert Stumpff and wife Sandy, Ken Stumpff and wife Grace, Bill Stumpff and wife Loni and Dan Stumpff and wife Lindy, brother-in-law Marv Juedes, sisters-in-law Ilene Stumpff and Vickie Stumpff, grandchildren Lucas Lousberg, Jack Lousberg, Dominic Lousberg, Hailey Miller and Caitlin Miller.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister Elva Juedes, brothers Keith Stumpff and Ray Stumpff.
