Roger "Weasel" Dale Eskew

Roger "Weasel" Dale Eskew, 58, of Sterling, passed away Saturday, Sept. 27, 2008, in Sterling. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with Steve Eskew officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Roger was born Feb. 2, 1950, to Melvin Raymond and Ina Faye (Gaskill) Eskew in DeNova. He graduated from Akron High School in 1968.
He moved to Sterling and married Shirley Colley in June 1972. They later divorced.
He worked at Excel Beef Plant, then later worked with his brother, Steve Eskew, in construction, retiring due to disability.
Roger lost his life after a short bout of cancer. He donated his body to cancer research.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing pool, especially with his children and grandchildren. Roger was known for making people laugh.
Roger is survived by his sons, Jeremy Eskew and Thommie Albrant of Hudson and Joshua Eskew of Aurora; daughters, Rickie Brandsted and husband Gregory of Pueblo and Selena Eskew and fiancee Justin Ruppel of Sterling; brothers, Stephen Eskew and wife Deanna of Sterling, Raymond "Mike" Eskew and wife Linda of Fort Morgan, Howard "Rick" Eskew and wife Beverly "Bubs" of Otis, Ronnie Eskew and wife Margaret "Maggie" of Akron, Roy Eskew of Akron and Benjamin Eskew of Akron; sisters, Cora "Peggy" O'Connor and husband Leonard of Greeley and Cindy Thompson and husband Gordon of Rollinsville; 12 grandchildren, Randee Eskew, Sean Albrant, Bradly Eskew, Conner Romick, Brandon Eskew, AshLynn Schneckloth, Lucas Eskew, Braden Brandsted, Stevie Lee Eskew, Katlynd Ruppel, Jaden Ruppel and J.J. Eskew; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elmer Eskew; three nephews; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Eskew.
