Obituary

Roberta "Bobbie" Fielder Raffaeli, passed away Thurs., Sept. 11, 2014 in Sterling. Private family service will be held.

Bobbie was born Oct. 10, 1924 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to Frank and Peggy Moore Keller. She was one of nine siblings. Due to the depression, the family moved to Denver in the early 1930's to try to make a better life. Bobbie persevered through hard times, including out in the world working as a maid at the age of thirteen.

She married Barney Fielder in 1941 and had three children by the age of twenty. They had seven children, in addition to the death of an infant son and a stillborn child. They moved to Sterling in 1949. They later divorced.

Bobbie married Mike Raffaeli in 1968 and they spent many happy years farming in the Imperial, Nebraska area until Mike's illness and death.
She was very active in both the American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries, serving as president of both organizations. For many years she served as Buddy Poppy Chairman in both Sterling and Imperial. She was well known for her generosity to others and quick to volunteer when needed. She was famous for her baked goods, candy and chex mix that she gave out to dozens of people, including regular visits to several nursing homes. She was also famous for her fantastic breakfasts she prepared for family and friends during hunting season. Her main passion was helping veterans in any way she could.

Bobbie is survived by sons Doug Fielder and Dick Fielder of Phoenix, Bill Fielder of Sterling, Ray Fielder of Broomfield; daughters Patricia Fielder Coleman of Sterling and Rebecca Evans of Phoenix; brother Herb Keller of Loveland; 15 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husbands Barney Fielder and Mike Raffaeli, son John Barney Fielder, infant son Daniel Patrick Fielder, parents and seven siblings.
