Obituary

Roberta Ann "Corky" Hradecky, 67, of Sterling, died March 14, 2011, in Sterling. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 17, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, March 18, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with Vigil Service and Rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 19, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with Fr. James Baird officiating. Services will conclude at the church. Inurnment will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 21, at Fleming Cemetery.

Corky was born Dec. 20, 1943, in Great Bend, Kan., to Gordon A. and Phyllis R. (Fisher) Carter. She graduated from high school.

She worked as a secretary and receptionist through the years.

On April 11, 1964, she married John T. Hradecky in Sterling.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, past president of Beta Sigma Phi, Meshawa Riding Club member, and announcer for the Little Britches Rodeo. In 2009, John and Corky were Grand Marshals of the Logan County Fair.

Corky is survived by her husband, John T. Hradecky of Sterling; daughter, Becky Reyes and Allen Guetter of Sterling; sons, Michael J. Hradecky and Scott A. Hradecky, both of Sterling; sister, Gwen Hampton and husband Fred of Tulsa, Okla.; brothers, Lloyd Carter of Virginia Beach, Va., Gordon Carter and wife Dene of Sterling, George Carter and Mike Kinsley of San Francisco, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Mary Scheel and Janet Amen and husband Allen, all of Greeley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Phyllis Carter.
