Roberta Boyer, 86, of Sterling, died May 15, 2011, in Sterling. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home, with Pastor Rene Lopez officiating. Services will conclude at the funeral home.

She was born Jan. 4, 1925, in Omaha, Neb., to Willis V. and Marietta L. (Ernst) Slauson. She graduated from high school.

Ms. Boyer was a surgical secretary at Porter Hospital in Denver for 27 years. She had been living in Sterling for the last three years to be close to her family.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.

Ms. Boyer is survived by her son, Willis Boyer of Missoula, Mont.; daughter, Barbara Mathis of Sterling; sister, Enid Rayburn of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Julie Sorg of Sterling, Thomas Boyer of Missoula, Lisa Holzworth of Seeley Lake, Mont.; and six great-grandchildren.
