Obituary

Robert Lawrence Terrill, 84 of Padroni passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 in Sterling. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 23 at Riverside Cemetery.

Robert was born July 10, 1934 in Sterling, Colorado to Lawrence Wilber and Catherine Ernestine (Smith) Terrill. He attended school in Sterling graduating in 1953. Robert married Ruth Simmerman in 1954 and this marriage ended in 1972. He retired in 1975 from Great Western Sugar with over 20 years of service. He also owned and operated a custom harvest business from 1975 until 1982. Robert married Culleen Waite in 1982. She passed away in 2000. He worked in the oilfields from 1982 to 1986. Robert then accepted a job with Logan County in 1986 as a solid waste supervisor and worked there until he retired in 2000.

Robert was past president of the Teamsters Union 1077 and a lifetime member Sterling BPOE Lodge #1336. In March of 2008, Robert married Rosalie Schmardebeck and they moved to Idaho. Bob and Rose shared retirement together, enjoying their church, home, friends, family, the Teton Mountains, kitties, animals and Cody the Labrador. Cody was Bob's companion and best friend. Rosalie passed away in April 2016. Immediately after Rose's death, Robert's daughter Donna and son-in-law Allen moved him back to Colorado. Bob spent his last 3 years with Donna and Allen in Padroni.

Bob spent the last several weeks surrounded by family and the love and care of his granddaughter Stephanie and great grandchildren Allie and Spencer. He enjoyed their stories, prayer, sharing of memories and spending his last days in the comfort of his home. Bob had a long battle with heart disease and diabetes. He is now at peace and is home with Jesus.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wives, brother Richard Terrill, sister Beth Mead and daughter Roberta.

Robert is survived by his daughters Donna South and husband Allen and Rhonda Martin; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
