He was a long-time member of the Peetz United Methodist Church, serving on several boards and acting as church treasurer for many years. He was honored as a Quiet Disciple by the church parish. He and his wife participated in the Peetz Alumni Association and acted as chairmen of the five-year reunion committee for a number of years.

Bob is survived by his sons, Bob and wife Sue of Sterling and Dave and wife Marsha of Peetz; five grandsons, Jason, Brent and wife Bev, Greg and wife Jordan, Brian, and Doug and wife Jess; and seven great-grandchildren, Adam, Sarah, Matthew, Seraphim, Lily, Kaileigh and Quinton.
