Ricky Lee Shepard, 39 of Westminster passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at his home. His family will receive friends from 2:00– 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25 at Chaney –Reager Funeral Home. A celebration of Ricky's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 26 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Pastor Dave McQuisten officiating. The service will conclude at the chapel.

Ricky was born on February 24, 1978 in Lansing, Michigan to Dale and Lorrie (Loubert) Shepard. He grew up in the Fleming, CO area and during his younger years attended the Southern Baptist Church. He moved to Denver in 1998 and attended college to become a Diesel mechanic. Rick met and married the love of his life, Erika Lynn Vallier on November 20, 1999 in Sterling, CO. After college, Rick started his career at Waste Equip. He worked there from 1999 to 2013 and then went to work for Alpine Waste & Recycling as a mechanic and welder. He loved racing, working on cars, racing at NASCAR Super Gas, and felt freedom when he was spending time in the mountains.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Erika Lynn Shepard on June 17, 2008.

Ricky is survived by his son Brenden Dale Shepard of Peetz, CO; mother Lorrie Shepard of Yuma, CO; 3 brothers, Brian Shepard and wife Courtney, Chris Shepard and fiancé Brittney DeKruif, and Mike Shepard and wife Tabatha, all of Sterling, CO; Aunt Mary West of Kentucky and numerous other family members.
