Richard Dean Meisner was born May 21st, 1955, in Sterling, Colorado, to Alex and Lydia Meisner. The fourth born of five children, he was raised on the family farm tending to the family's crops and livestock. He attended Sterling public schools before graduating from Sterling High School in 1973 where he received numerous honors in the Creative Arts department.
In 1975, Rich was set up on a blind date, where he met the love of his life, Roxanne Walraven. Rich and Roxie wed in September of 1978 and soon began a family of their own. With a strong work ethic and selfless attitude, Rich embarked on a lifelong, hardworking career, holding multiple positions at various companies ranging from salesmen to delivery man, and welder, before finding his niche in the oil industry, in 1981. During a decades-long, tenacious career in the oil industry, Rich built a successful company that was able to weather many booms and busts. He developed many long-standing personal and professional relationships with his employees and customers prior to its sale in 2008. Rich's passions outside of work included classic automobiles, numismatics, tinkering in the kitchen, gardening, good donuts and coffee, and most of all, spending time with his grandkids. He also loved to play the accordion, organ, piano, and engage with all things musical.
While Rich lived, he loved God, his wife, two sons and his four grandchildren with all his heart. In his passing, his dedication and unconditional love for his family will forever live on in their hearts. Rich's unique humor, steadfastness, and humble spirit will be missed and never forgotten by his family and friends.
Rich was preceded in death by his father and mother, Alex and Lydia Meisner, his eldest brother Gene Meisner, and in-laws, John and Dora Walraven.
