Richard C. Dietz, 74 of Sterling, was born Dec. 20, 1937 in Kirk and died Oct. 3, 2012 in Sterling.

Mr. Dietz was born to Ira Charles and Margaret Helen (Gully) Dietz in Kirk. After graduating from high school, Dietz was engaged in farming through the years and worked at Nichols and Wal-Mart.

On March 20, 1986 he married Roberta L. Fletcher in Las Vegas, Nev.

He was a past member of BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336.

Mr. Dietz was preceded in death by his parents Ira and Margaret Dietz; son Steve Dietz; brothers Jack and Russell Dietz; as well as son-in-law Dan Drullinger.

He is survived by his wife Roberta of Sterling; daughter Brenda Drullinger and Mason King of Kirk; stepsons: Raymond L. Fetzer and wife Annie of Buena Vista, Dennis E. Fetzer and wife Dee of Evans and Brian W. Fetzer and Carol Ogley of Sterling; special friend Liz Gulley of Kirk; as well as seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
