Dick "Pop" Degenhart, 71 of Sterling, passed away Thurs., Aug. 4, 2016 in Loveland. Memorial service will be 11:00 am Tues., Aug. 9, 2016 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Following the service there will be a luncheon at the Elks Club. Friends are invited to bring their classic and special cars.
Richard was born Oct. 13, 1944 in Sterling, CO to Peter Adam and Irene Elizabeth Bersch Degenhart. He graduated from St. Anthony Catholic School in 1964. Dick served in the National Guard.
In Sterling, CO he married Mary K. Carter. Dick was an over the road truck driver for over thirty years.
Dick was a life member of the Sterling BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336 where he enjoyed playing cards with his buddies and a member of the American Legion Post No. 20. He enjoyed car shows and showing his 1956 Mercury. Dick loved auctions and helping with the Hospice yearly auction.
Dick is survived by his wife Mary K. Degenhart of Sterling; daughter Tina Cox of Pueblo; sons Steve Degenhart of Pueblo, Bryan Shepard and wife Karla and Bill Shepard all of Sterling; sister Patricia A. Grauberger and husband David of Greeley; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren and special friends Roger and Rhonda Modrell.
